WILLIAM SHATNER GOES FULL CAPTAIN KIRK & ROCKETS TO SPACE WITH BLUE ORIGIN
Thursday, Oct 14, 2021
William Shatner aka Captain Kirk went boldly where two men and their crews have gone before!
Channeling his fictional days in space on Star Trek and following in the footsteps of billionaires Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos, a 90-year-old William Shatner boarded Blue Origin—which famously carried Bezos back in July—for its second crewed flight to space to the final frontier!
This was the voyage of the RSS First Step today. Its mission: encounter Earth from incredible views at apogee pic.twitter.com/Gzsnkv97K9
Shatner called the 11-minute trip “the most profound experience” he’s ever had, as the oldest person who has rocketed to space.
“Everybody in the world needs to do this. Everybody in the world needs to see … it was unbelievable,” Shatner shared. “I am so filled with emotion about what just happened. It’s extraordinary. I hope I never recover from this. I hope that I can maintain what I feel now, I don’t want to lose it. It’s so much larger than me and life,” he continued.
The Blue Origin trip took place yesterday, rocketing into space at 10:49 a.m. ET, reaching 347,539 feet, and returning to Earth at 10:59 a.m. ET.
