ZENDAYA CHATS ABOUT CHERISHING ‘JOY & HAPPINESS’ IN MIDST OF PANDEMIC AFTER HER HISTORICAL EMMYS WIN
Monday, Sep 21, 2020

Zendaya brought all of us Euphoria last night after her historical win at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards! The 24-year-old actress broke the metaphorical glass ceiling as the youngest to snag Best Lead Actress in a drama—sending much-needed waves of “joy and happiness” across the globe.

Flawlessly channeling Rue in Sam Levinson’s HBO series Euphoria—a troubled teenager navigating controversial issues such as drug use, battling with mental illness, and finding her true identity—Zendaya beat Hollywood heavyweights  Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Olivia Colman (The Crown), and Killing Eve’s Sandra Oh, and Jodie Comer to snag the title. Adding to the historical win, Zendaya’s also the 2nd black actress to win her Emmy category next to Viola Davis who won for How To Get Away With Murder five years ago. Zendaya celebrated her monumental moment in a room full of family and friends and discussed the importance of cherishing joy and happiness in the midst of such a painful year with Dish Nation’s very own, Andrew Freund.
