The certification of president-elect Joe Biden’s win has come to a screeching halt as Pro-Trump protestors storm the U.S. Capitol during their ‘March to Save America.’ As Congress convened to affirm Biden as the new president, the House floor was evacuated and lawmakers were given gas masks as tear gas was thrown in the rotunda.

After President Donald Trump addressed his supporters, assured their votes would not be silenced and encouraged the mob to “stop the steal,” the unhinged demonstrators tore down metal barricades, stormed the capitol, and clashed with police. Some demonstrators were reportedly pepper-sprayed and one person has been shot inside the Capitol per The Washington Post. In addition to the Capitol’s evacuation, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has implemented a 6 pm ET curfew.
