No one man should have all that power, but Kanye West does.
Fans of Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, are not happy with the Donda rapper ahead of his Donda 2 release. Amid trolling Kim Kardashian’s SNL boyfriend Pete DavidsonĀ on Instagram, Ye announced that Donda 2 will only be available via his own device called a Stem Player, which will run fans about $200 to purchase.
Kanye urged fans to stand with him and be “a part of the revolution” that will release artists from an “oppressive system.” Ye added that he has 67,000 Stem Players available for purchase, with 3,000 being made every day. Additionally, according to the Stem Player website, the $200 device “ships withĀ Donda” and allows the user to “customize any song.”
“After 10 albums after being under 10 contracts. I turned down a hundred million dollar Apple deal. No one can pay me to be disrespected. We set our own price for our art,” Kanye said. “Iām willing to die standing cause I aināt living on my knees no more. God please cover me. I run this company 100% I donāt have to ask for permission.”
Although most outlets reported that fans will need to purchase the $200 device to listen to Donda 2, others say that is not the case. Per a Kanye West-dedicated Twitter account, @TheKanyeSource, and as reported in Hot New Hip Hop, fans will not have to buy the $200 to listen to the album as they’ll be able to listen on stemplayer.com
There is a lot of misinformation being spread regarding DONDA 2, so want to clear up confusion:
Just because DONDA 2 will not be streaming & will be available through the Stem Player website, you are not required to buy a Stem Player to listen. It just enhances the experience.

Two listening parties were held at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in ATL where Kanye resided at one point, and the third was held in Ye’s hometown city Chicago at Chicagoās Soldier Field.
