While on the Connect the Dots podcast, Stephen A. Smith said Jay-Z called and checked him about comparing Beyoncé to Rihanna while on Sherri Shepherd’s talk show in 2022, just ahead of RiRi’s Super Bowl halftime show. Stephen told the talk show host that although Rihanna is “fantastic,” she “ain’t Beyonce,” sparking backlash on social media. He later apologized for his comments.
