Our girl Da Brat reveals “Da Baby Bump” and we are thrilled for her and her wife Jesseca Dupart’s pregnancy!
Not only did Da Brat and Jesseca surprise our girl Sherri Shepherd while on her talk show this morning by gifting her a t-shirt that read, “I’m going to be an auntie” along with a picture of a sonogram, but she also exclusively shared the news with People.
The Dish Nation host, 48, told People her pregnancy is a “blessing” she never thought was in the cards for her, but had a change of heart after she married Kaleidoscope CEO, Jesseca.
“I never thought I was going to have kids,” she told the outlet. “I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.” She continued, “I started looking at life so differently,” adding, “I was like, I want a little me with you. Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally.”

Da Brat also revealed she suffered a miscarriage during her pregnancy journey, but as they still had plenty of eggs left from their anonymous “eager entrepreneur” donor she was able to conceive and is currently 18 weeks pregnant! Their baby will be a sibling to Jesseca’s three kids, whom she had with a previous partner.
