The world is mourning the loss of another icon. Comedy legend, writer, actor and director, Carl Reiner, passed away Monday night at 98 due to natural causes. Carl’s son Rob Reiner, who’s also an actor, comedian, and filmmaker, tweeted about the devastating loss of his father.

After his stint on Sid Caesar’s Caeser Hour and Your Show of Shows, Carl went on to create and star in the five-time Emmy award-winning The Dick Van Dyke Show. He later linked up with long-time friend and comedic partner-in-crime Mel Brooks for the comedy sketch, The 2000 Year Old Man. Continuing with his acting career, Reiner was featured in films such as It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming (1966) and the Ocean’s film franchise (2001–2007); and later directed several films like Oh God starring George Burns (1977), The Jerk with Steve Martin (1979) and many more.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and fans of Carl Reiner, and may his legendary career continue to live on in the hearts of all.
