2021 GRAMMYS NOMS: BEYONCÉ TAKES THE LEAD & BREAKS A RECORD—TAYLOR SWIFT, DUA LIPA & RODDY RICCH TRAIL WITH SIX
Tuesday, Nov 24, 2020
LOS ANGELES, CA – FEBRUARY 12: Beyonce poses in the press room at the 59th GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic)

The nominations for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, which will be hosted by The Daily Show’s funny man Trevor Noah, have just been announced and as expected the competition is fierce—or should we say Sasha Fierce?! In true Queen Bey fashion, Beyoncé snagged 9 nominations including record and song of the year for “Black Parade”—making her the most Grammy-nominated woman of all time. Coming in a close second are Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and newcomer and “The Box” rapper Roddy Ricch with 6 nominations each.

Speaking of new kids on the block, Megan The Stallion, Doja Cat, and Noah Cyrus, will battle for Best New Artist, while soulful songstress Jhene Aiko, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and Coldplay compete for Best Album of the Year. A few major chart-toppers were snubbed including The Weeknd, whose “Blinding Lights” received no nominations despite being the biggest hit of the year. Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, and BTS were also skipped over for many top categories.

The Grammy noms were announced based on the nine key changes that were ratified back in June—and in the spirit of transparency, the rulebook is available to the public for the first time ever. Will you be tuning in on January 31, 2021, on CBS? Tune in to see what our Dish Nation hosts think about the nominees and if they’ll be watching!
